Kohshi Kamata / 鎌田康志 is a composer and sound artist based in Fukuoka, Japan. He began his career in 2007, exploring experimental electronic music and improvisation through tools such as Max/MSP.

From 2014 to 2018, he was based in Berlin, where he expanded his practice through performances and collaborations across theatre, dance and film. During this period, his work developed from avant-garde electronics into a broader musical language incorporating chamber music, neoclassical composition and contemporary production.

Since returning to Japan, Kamata has focused on composing music for film, television and production music catalogues. His work combines delicate acoustic writing, orchestral textures and electronic sound design, and has been released by international production music labels including BMG Production Music, Bibliotheque Music and Universal Production Music.

His music has appeared in productions for Netflix, PBS, HBO and Max, Disney+ and Hulu, ITV, Discovery, BBC, Channel 4, NHK, NBC, ESPN and other international broadcasters and streaming platforms.
